annual state convention onOctober 15 through October 16, 2009 in Missoula, Montana.

MICHIGAN
The Michigan Beekeepers fall meeting will be Oct. 23 – 24, 2009 at the Valley Plaza Resort. The main speaker will be Larry Connor and his topics will be wintering bees and making Michigan Queen Bees. There is a follow-up session of questions & answers. Both days will have additional classes on a variety of subjects, creamed honey, insurance, mead making, bees & flowers, bees in the city, candle making, honey judging & show preparation & making skin care bars.
There will be a Banquet on Friday night, a chance to catch up with your old friends. Saturday afternoon will be the elections for the MBA Officers

Fall meeting October 17, 2009 - Knights of Columbus Hall, Leicester, MA. Hosted by the Worcester County Beekeepers Association
This will be an all-day Saturday meeting sponsored by the Worcester County Beekeepers and Massachusetts Beekeepers Association. Once again we have brought in big name speakers to speak on pressing topics in beekeeping. This is a free meeting open to all beekeepers. A catered lunch will be available for a cost of $10.

Backyard Beekeepers Association
On Tuesday September 29th Doug Dingman a Microbiologist/Molecular Biologist in the Dept. of Biochemical Genetics at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station will discuss his research on “American Foulbrood; a hidden disease”. Meetings are at 7:30 p.m. in the Norfield Congregational Church in the Community Room on Norfield Road in Weston, Connecticut. At 6:30 p.m. there is a New Bees meeting for beginning beekeepers.
Each month we have timely weekend hands-on inspection workshops, mentor program and more. All events are free and open to the public.
