Preliminary Imidacloprid Pollinator Risk Assessment Technical Briefing Webinar Slated for February 18

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold an online technical briefing on its preliminary pollinator risk assessment for imidacloprid, a neonicotinoid insecticide, on February 18, 2016, from 1PM to 2:30PM (Eastern Standard Time). Register for the webinar at here.

The webinar is intended to help inform the public about the results of the recently released preliminary pollinator risk assessment for imidacloprid. The Agency posted the pollinator risk assessment on January 6 and opened a 60-day public comment period on January 15. Since the assessment is preliminary and the comment period is still open, the EPA will not be speculating on potential future actions during the webinar. Webinar participants will have the opportunity to submit technical questions about the assessment, but comments on the assessment, including recommendations for future actions, should be submitted to the official docket.

The webinar has 1,000 slots for presenters and participants. For people who are unable to attend, the session will be recorded and linked from the Federal Pollinator Health Task Force: EPA’s Role web page.

EPA encourages stakeholders and interested members of the public to review the risk assessment and related documents, and submit comments to the docket at http://www.regulations.gov/#!docketDetail;D=EPA-HQ-OPP-2008-0844.  All comments submitted to the docket will be considered in our final risk assessment.
