Warranty Information

Dadant & Sons, Inc., warrants its equipment to be free of defects in material and workmanship. If within 30 days of purchase you feel an item to be defective, please return the merchandise along with your sales slip at once, and we will refund the purchase price along with all transportation charges. This warranty does not cover any damage to equipment arising from alteration, abuse, or use of product for other than its intended purpose. We reject all implied and expressed warranties.

(For faster service, please have your order written down and your credit card number ready. Also, please know your Dadant Customer Number (if you have received a catalog, it is located above your address label on the catalog back cover) to speed up the order process. By Fax: You may print your on line order shopping cart or fill out the convenient order form stapled in the center of the catalog. Fax the completed order form to your nearest Dadant branch. By Mail: You may print out your on-line shopping cart. Address and mail your completed order to your nearest Dadant branch.

We Ship By:

    UPS (primary shipping method), Parcel Post (if requested), or Truck Freight.

    Special priority shipping options available at higher costs

    Shipping and Handling Charges are figured for UPS on the web site. Each item weight is

    added up for the total weight, all fractions of a pound are considered a full pound.

    We divide the total weigh by 35 pounds to determine the number of packages to be shipped.

    We use the UPS charts to determine shipping charges.

Please be sure to provide the correct address with your order. UPS charges for incorrect addresses will be added to your bill. UPS charges an additional amount for delivery to rural areas and residential delivery, those charges will be added to your bill. Note: These shipping charges may not be sufficient for lightweight bulky merchandise or weights over 40 pounds which will be shipped in multiple packages. We reserve the right to bill you for additional shipping charges. We reserve the right to ship your order from a different branch to complete your order in a timely manner.

Dimensional weight is being be used rather than actual weight. Dimensional weight is a formula used by package delivery companies to determine a billing weight based on density rather than weight. Some items may show the billing weight rather than the actual weight. Parcel Post must be requested in the comment sections otherwise all shipments are by United Parcel Service, unless item is too large in which case we will ship by Truck Freight.

CATALOG ERRORS

We are not responsible for typographical or photographic errors that may appear in any Dadant material. We reserve the right to make adjustments or corrections due to changing market conditions, product discontinuations or typographical or photographic errors in products.

BACK-ORDERS

Items back-ordered always receive first priority from shipping department. Freight charges for a back-ordered item is your responsibility.

FREIGHT CHARGES

You pay all freight charges.

DAMAGED FREIGHT

All merchandise is shipped F.O.B. Shipping Point. This legal term simply means that all merchandise becomes your property as soon as we give it to the freight carrier. The freight carrier is responsible for the complete and safe delivery of your merchandise. It is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the merchandise when it is delivered. If the freight carrier fails to deliver your merchandise in good condition, it is your responsibility to file a damage or loss claim with the freight carrier. If you need help when filing a claim, please call us.

ORDER DISCREPANCIES

Check all orders immediately upon receipt and contact us within 10 days on any discrepancies or we cannot be responsible for errors.

SPECIAL ORDERS

A 50% deposit must accompany all special orders. Some special orders may be subject to a cancellation charge. Balance due on pickup of order.

PICK UP ORDERS

To allow us to best serve you, please call before you come to pick up an order at our warehouse locations. It helps us give you the fastest, most complete service.

OVER PAYMENTS

Over payments will be refunded either by check, credited back to your credit card or transferred to your accounts receivable account.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

We are closed on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and News Years Day. In addition, we are closed on Good Friday and the day after Thanksgiving.

CLOSING FOR INVENTORY

We will be closed the last two working days in August for our annual inventory.

ORDER FOR EXPORT

We are pleased to quote orders for export and quotes can include special packaging, shipping and documentation at customer's request. Export shipments are subject to payment in U.S. funds. Honey Bees and Queens cannot be shipped overseas.

STATE SALES TAX

We are required to collect sales tax where applicable by law. Sales Tax exemptions will be allowed only if you have a signed sales tax resale certificate on file with us. State Law requires that we have certificates on file before any tax exemption can be allowed. If you have not sent in a sales tax resale certificate, we will charge you sales tax on your initial order and refund the sales tax to you when you send in the sales tax resale certificate.

PRICES

Due to rapid changes in our economy today, all orders will be invoiced on the basis of prices which are in effect at the time of shipment. Please feel free to confirm prices at any time.

RETURNED MERCHANDISE

If you want to return an item, please call for a return authorization.

CONDITIONS FOR RETURNS:

    The item must be in original carton and in good condition,

    The item must be returned within 30 days of receipt,

    It should be returned to location of original purchase, unless otherwise directed by our customer service personnel

The original receipt required.

LIMITATIONS:

    In most cases a 10% restocking fee will be charged.

    To insure purity, we cannot exchange or offer refunds on beeswax foundation. All returned   foundation will be accepted at current crude wax prices only.

    We cannot accept returns on medications or chemicals.

EXCEPTION: If we made the shipping mistake, we will give full refund and pay the freight both ways.

LIABILITY

Because conditions of use are beyond our control, we make no warranty or representation, express or implied, except that all products conform to the description provided by the manufacturer on sales literature or product labels. Our liability is limited to the purchase price paid.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Many states and localities have codes and regulations governing sales, construction, installation, and or use of products for certain purposes. While we attempt to assure that our products comply with such codes, we cannot guarantee compliance in every situation. We cannot be responsible for how the product is installed or used. Before you purchase and use a product, please review both the product application and local codes and regulations. Be sure that the product, its installation, and its use will comply with them.

FOREIGN ORDERS

We accept the following forms of payment for foreign orders, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards. We also take checks drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. dollars. For large container orders we accept a bank wire transfer to our bank account or letter of credit. All bank wire transfer costs and exchange rates are the responsibility of the customer.

We are happy to quote foreign postage for smaller orders. We ship by Parcel Post Airmail and  Parcel Post Priority Mail. For larger container orders, we will quote ocean freight or air freight as requested from our home office in Hamilton, IL. It is important to list our item numbers, descriptions and quantities when ordering. Please have all items listed on your original order. If an order is changed, the freight quote will have to be recalculated delaying the shipment. We insure all overseas shipments if it is available to the destination country. All foreign shipments are the responsibility of the customer and shipped at the customers risk. The customer is responsible for contacting a broker to process the paperwork to have the items enter their country. The customer is responsible for all foreign duties, import fees, taxes and brokerage fees.
